NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover whatever he could about poker. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the adverse comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.
Phil began playing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated many of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil knows he makes blunders in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
