A Couple of of Poker’s Great Pros
by Carlos on May 14th, 2024
Literally huge amounts of players want to be the next "big thing" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more well known "charming pros" of poker. Even though "nice" is associated with their names when you are facing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have removed you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his competition payouts amounted to more than four and a half million dollars and he captured 2 highly admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Competition Player of the Year. In February 2006 he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel still has the humility to speak to his admirers about how they could boost their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His accomplishments have lead to him making an educational video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of Two Thousand and Five, his total life time earnings surpass 2.7 million dollars.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is 1 of the busiest players in poker and between Two Thousand and 2004 he finished in the money in more than 100 competitions. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker matches and also coined the term "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a especially bad beat. As of 2006, his career winnings are just about six million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has earned 5 WSOP titles with two of his wins coming in Two Thousand and Three. Chris has the alias "Jesus" due to his trademark long hair and beard, that, and along with his ability to toss cards quick enough to slice through bananas and pickles. As of 2005 his total poker tournament winnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
