Caribbean Poker Rules and Pointers

Poker has become world celebrated lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the bank and of course all of the different gamblers are given 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s first card, you need to either make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s amount is akin to your original ante, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes immediately to the casino. After the bet is the conclusion. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, plus a sum in accordance with the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The casino pays cash equal to your ante and set odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
