Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
by Carlos on Monday, October 10th, 2016
Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve final game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best gamblers anywhere in the world. While gambling on internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.
Buying in for the minimum takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be 1 of the best players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full dollar value. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world might be guys you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be seen playing net poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in high stakes omaha hi-low and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
